Today's Scripture: Joshua 24:14
Is there anything relative about truth? Bits and Pieces shared how President Abraham Lincoln once responded to a challenger. He asked the man, “How many legs has a cow?”
“Four,” the man fired back.
“That’s right. Now suppose you call the cow’s tail a leg; how many legs would the cow have?”
“Five.”
The President replied, “Now, that’s where you’re wrong. Calling a cow’s tail a leg doesn’t make it a leg.”
When we reject God’s wisdom, we’re being just as foolish. Though we disagree with His Word, it’s still true. We are not the absolute authority in the universe; God is. We can accept the facts, or we can ignore them. Still, what He says goes.
Life still begins at conception, though we claim a fetus is only tissue. Killing that life is still a violation of one of God’s Ten Commandments, though we claim a woman has the right to choose. Marriage is still the union of one man and one woman, though we attempt to justify same-sex unions. And the wages of sin are still death, period.
Whether pastor or layman, parent or child, doctor or patient—you must choose God’s way, or your own. Either way, you’ll answer to the Author of Truth. Choose wisely, or you may not have a leg to stand on at Judgment Day.
Today's Quote: The things in the Bible aren’t true because they’re in the Bible—they’re in the Bible because they’re true.
